After the release of episode two, the third episode was canceled. This game was so terrible that it killed any plans for the rest of the series and this game will never be fully completed. Mario Party ended up being a great idea. It became a franchise that had entries released on multiple Nintendo consoles and continues to innovate to this day.
In , we got the Sonic Shuffle released on the Dreamcast. This was meant to capitalize on the success that Mario Party had on the Nintendo Sonic Shuffle had some good ideas, like trying to add things like a story mode.
Unfortunately, there were so many rules in Sonic Shuffle that made the gameplay run at a slower pace than Mario Party did, and that took away most of the fun. If a character makes a big impact in a video game series that featured somebody else, give that character their own spin-off series and it will be a success. That must have been what Sega was thinking in when they released Shadow The Hedgehog.
The story of Shadow is that he was created by the grandfather of Dr. Robotnik and he wants to find out more about his past. What stood out to most people is Shadow would carry around a gun as his main weapon. What was bad about the Shadow game is the platforming that felt inaccurate. Most people felt this game was something that might have looked good on paper but failed when it came to execution.
This was a short-lived 3D fighting game that had a roster of mostly unknown characters that was never heard from again.
You had to progress up a fight ladder like Mortal Kombat. Your final bosses would be Metal Sonic and Dr. It did have online play for the Xbox , which is a good feature, but pretty standard for the time. Misery loves company so you could make someone else feel terrible for playing this game if you play with them online. When you think of Sonic The Hedgehog games, do you think of his games that feature puzzle-solving and exploration? Probably not. When you come to that point in a level, you have to pick a different character.
You pick whoever has the ability that will help you progress through the level. Like other games in the Sonic Boom series, you will have to complete the same level multiple times by using every character at once.
There are levels where Sonic can run fast but that is only a small part of this game. Who plays a Sonic The Hedgehog title and expects to move fast? Just everyone who played a Sonic game! This has the reputation for being the worst Sonic The Hedgehog game, but that probably more due to failed expectations. Unfortunately, there are other things in this game that are much crazier.
First, we have the un-needed introductions of Silver, who can move things with his mind thanks to telekinesis. Or how about Sonic cheating on Amy with a female human? I understand Sonic was rescuing a damsel in distress but they became close, too close for comfort. What is more amazing is that the cartoon reboot this game was based on is very good. I generally really hate the skit style of youtube reviews but this is significantly less obnoxious than most The guy playin' sonic is particularly good, hope he's in more of your videos - you got a new sub outta me.
Yeah, skits-style reviews aren't something I plan on making a regular thing because I'm like you; I think they can cross a line into just being annoying but occasionally they're fun to do. I believe it's a mod for the new genesis collection. Originally, the game was also 2 player and the objective was to collect more flickies than the other player, like a competition. But due to technical details that didn't pan out. Lots of missed potential with this game. Still, it's really cool and I might check it out at some point. Sonic actually is a 3D model. I hate the gameplay,controls and bosses but I enjoy the ideas, music and levels. All I know is that I felt like a god when I discovered it as a kid! Yeah, it's kinda telling of the quality of Knuckles Chaotix since Sega's never re-released it, which is pretty surprising given their track record.
Glad you like it! Sonic 3D blast for PC was my favorite. It was the first sonic game I played, so for me, that is sonic. I haven't liked any other sonic game ever. I really didn't find running in diagonal directions that hard with the way Sega designed their D-pads. It's good to here that I'm not the only one who kinda likes sonic 3D blast. It's not great, but it has good graphics, sound and it's still playable. My main problem is that, it's sorta repetitive. I've only played three bad sonic games, sonic labyrinth, sonic boom and shadow the hedgehog.

This is very entertaining. Also, Zootopia 2: Electric Boogaloo. That joke should not have made me laugh, but it did. I appreciate the modest subtlety mixed with matter of fact honesty in a relaxed tone. Jon is too over the top at times and AVGN is very reputable but static.
I actually played that game on a disc with most of nor all sega genesis games along with sonic 3D blast, although sonic pinball was my favorite, to bad I got rid of it. Good to know another youtuber who respects that game! Really need to get around to reviewing it one of these days! I like this game. It is not perfect, but it is fun and it has some of the best graphics and music ever on the Mega Drive. Yes the control need some getting used to, but I like the Flicky mechanic and the different gameplay this has over previous games.
I think people dislike this for teo reasons: first, it is not as good as the firsy games except spinball IMO. Always disliked that game ; second, it is not a true 3D game. I remember reviews of the awesome Pandemonium at the time bashing it because its gameplay wasn't "true 3D".
People just wanted true 3D games in every aspect, and 3D blast was not one of these in neither. It simply didn't lived up to expectations. I had no idea there was a ROM hack of that sort for this game, not entirely surprised since the Sonic hacking community is quite dedicated as far as I know.

For those who want more info on the amazing developer tricks behind Sonic 3D I recommend visiting Game Hut and seeing videos like this: kzclip. I didn't realize it wasn't. Sonic 3D was gonna be a game to go aside sonic xtreme, the 3D sonic Saturn game.
Then when it was cancelled the Saturn sonic 3D blast released. Gamehut Is the channel I believe. I could bet both my arms as an accordion was the key instrument during the songwriting for the genesis version. In my opinion this game is pretty good but if it had better controls I would say it was a great game. And what theme is that? That would be the boss theme from the Genesis version of Sonic 3D Blast.
